Broadway's Future Songbook Series — presented by Arts and Artists at St. Paul — continued April 28 with the music of composer-lyricist Katie Thompson. Here are highlights from the evening. 

Produced by Erica Ruff, hosted by John Znidarsic and directed by Adam Jackman, the free evening was held in the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. 

Interpreting the songs of Thompson were Olithea Anglin, Bryan Terrell ClarkMatt Doyle, Molly Hager, Jonathan Hoard, Bonnie Milligan, Erik Sisco, Sam Tadaldi, Marty Thomas, Mariand Torres and Brandon Uranowitz.

Thompson has penned three albums: “What I’ve Done Right,” “KT LIVE” and “Private Page.” She has also written two musicals: R.R.R.E.D. A Secret Musical (The Grove in LA, and NYMF in NYC) and her current creation, Haunted, with Sara Montgomery writing the book. As an actress, she played the role of Vashti in Michael John LaChiusa’s Giant at The Public Theater and the Witch in Big Fishat the Oriental Theater in Chicago.

This award winning show utilizes characters from Collodi's classic Pinocchio and sets them loose in today's modern sexual landscape. WOODY was selected by Gregory Mosher as a 2016 Mainstreet Musical Award winner.

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) has announced the performer lineup for the Women of Note concert series, celebrating female, queer and trans artists who are changing the landscape of musical theatre. Featuring dynamic sounds and incredible performers, this one-night-only concert event will showcase even more artists than last year in two back-to-back performances. Women of Note will take place at The Duke on 42nd Street (229 W. 42nd Street) on Monday, August 1 with two separate lineups at 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm. Tickets are available now at www.nymf.org/tickets.

The Women of Note lineup for the first concert includes Lynn AhrensCarmel Dean & Kate HamillEisa Davis, Tina DeVaron, Kate DouglasSarah Taylor Ellis & Meghan Brown, Amanda GreenMarcy Heisler & Zina Goldrich, Anna Jacobs, Lauren PritchardZoe SarnakLucy Simon, Jennifer Stafford, Georgia Stitt, and Kathleen Wrinn.

The lineup for the second concert includes Aya Abdelaziz, Jill Abramovitz, Rebekah Allen, Barbara AnselmiMaggie-Kate Coleman & Erato Kremmyda, Elizabeth A. Davis, Ty Defoe & Tidtaya Sinutoke, Kait KerriganLauren MarcusGrace McLean, Jean Rohe, Rona SiddiquiShaina TaubJeanine Tesori, and Katie Thompson.

The Women of Note concert series will be directed by Karen Azenberg, with Rachel Abramsserving as line producer and Jess Glover as musical director, and is made possible in part by the generous support of the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment and Grove Entertainment.
